ARRTC Basic

ARRTC Basic is a 2-day course designed for those who have never attended an ARRTC class. The goal of this training is to provide regional response partners with basic, core disaster response training. Attendees will learn the basics of regional disaster response: how to do it, how to make the best decisions, how to communicate needs and offers of assistance, and what the roles and responsibilities of others are in disaster response. If you have attended a previous ARRTC Level I or Basic training, the content is current and timely, but does not represent new courses. We encourage you to consider ARRTC Advanced, or to visit our website for more training materials. Key topics presented include: Intro to HEICS, NIMS, NRP, and IS 100,200,700.800, Update on Joint Commission and OSHA Requirements, Surge Capacity Management, AIMS Training and Applications/ Public Health Response, Healthcare Needs-Post Disaster, Altered Standards of Care for Disasters, Rapid Assessment/Triage Methods, Radiological Awareness, Chemical Awareness, Biological Awareness, Naturally Occurring Disease Outbreaks, Decontamination and PPE, Medical Needs Shelters, and Resource Managment. Ten (10) ARRTC Basic sessions will be offered.
