Doug Sim's bio
Doug Sims is the Deputy Chief of Mobile Fire Rescue Department. Since 2002, his current assignment has been with the Fire Prevention Bureau. He supervises the Assistant Fire Marshals who are responsible for Fire Code enforcement and arson investigation. Doug’s previous assignment was with Field Operations. In this position he was responsible for twenty-three stations, 17 Engine Companies, 5 Truck Companies, 9 Advanced Support Life Support Ambulances, two airports with five CFR trucks, one fireboat and one hazardous material team. He supervised nine District Chiefs that were responsible for the daily operations and supervision of the Departments personnel and emergency response. While in the position he also worked extensively with the local Emergency Management Agency, chairing the County Terrorism Taskforce and serving on the Local Emergency Planning Committee. Doug earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Services Administration and earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of South Alabama.
